MY PRODUCT APPEARS LIKE IT HAS MELTED AND REFORMED AND NOW FEELS GRITTY. IS IT DAMAGED?
No, your product is still good. Because shea butter can change at high melting points or hotter climates, it may “reshape” once cooled. As a result of the climate change, the potential for grittiness is increased. We enclose our products in cool shield packaging to assist with extreme temperatures during the summer months. As shea butter comes in contact with your skin, the product will melt. Please remember that unrefined shea butter is a nut and comes from a nut tree, so it is NOT uncommon to see or feel traces of nutshell in your product. The women in Ghana work really hard to give you a quality product, but they simply can’t get it all out sometimes! Besides, it does not minimize the quality of the final product.
.WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN AVATE CLOTH AND A LOOFAH SPONGE?
Ayate cloths are hand-woven from the agave cactus plant fiber. These cloths shed dead skin, revitalize the entire body, increase circulation, and cleanse the pores, thereby eliminating toxins. Ayate cloths are 100 % better than a loofah sponge which can become a haven for mold and bacteria resulting in costly replacements frequently. Ayate cloths are mildew-resistant and last 12-15 months and are machine washable.
Tip: Place ayate cloth in a tied pillow case for cleansing. Cleanse on normal wash cycle. Hang to dry.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TRADITIONAL PUMICE STONE AND A TERRA COTTA FOOT STONE?
Terra cotta foot stones are made from fire-kilned clay. The pores in these stones are created by inserting grass or grains into the clay before it is baked off. Once it hardens, the grains are removed, thereby creating a rough, “holey” surface better to cleanse, exfoliate, remove calluses, and polish the feet. The holes in the terra cotta stone are larger than pumice stone that often breeds bacteria, increasing the potential for fungus and infection. Because terra cotta stones are baked, they never wear out, unlike a traditional pumice stone.
Tip: Use an old bristle toothbrush with a mild cleaning solution to disinfect your foot stone after each use.
